Because lymph glands are similar to a network system that runs through the entire body, similar to blood vessels, the disease can occur in different regions of the body.
Affected regions can be, for example, the lower jaw, the parotid glands, the surface of the neck, the armpits, the surface of the groin and the back of the knee.
The course of lymph gland cancer in dogs.
The course and symptoms of lymph gland cancer can vary depending on which organ is affected. However, a swelling of the lymph glands is always present.
Other common signs of this disease include diarrhoea, massive drinking, fever and lack of appetite.
If your dog shows one of these symptoms - which persist for a longer period of time - please contact us or your vet immediately.
Life expectancy in lymph gland cancer in dogs
The life expectancy of your dog can be influenced by various factors, for example whether only one lymph gland or several are affected.
There is usually a higher life expectancy if a single lymph gland is affected.
However, if several lymph glands are affected, life expectancy can be shortened; in extreme cases this can be less than 2 months.
Characterization of lymph gland cancer in dogs
There are different ways in which the tumour behaves in your dog's body. For example, there are processes that only swell a package of lymph glands, but also generalised forms that affect the lymph glands throughout the body.
Unfortunately, metastasis in the lungs and possibly also in other organs, as well as the return of the lymph gland cancer, its recurrence, cannot be ruled out.

Pain with cancer of the lymph nodes
The development of lymph gland cancer causes increased pain in a dog. Since the lymph glands resemble a network system that runs through the whole body, similar to blood vessels, the disease can occur in different regions of the body.
This means that the pain can also occur in different places at the same time.
In addition, pain can also occur due to spatial changes in organs, as metastasis (e.g. to the lungs) cannot be ruled out in lymph node cancer.
To improve the dog's well-being, the main focus should be on relieving the pain.
Therefore, you should sit down with your vet and check what options there are for your dog to relieve the pain. After all, your dog may not tolerate the painkillers and you may need to look for an alternative together. Our dendritic cell therapy can have a very positive effect on pain and cancer. For example, the treatment can cause the cancer to shrink, which relieves the pain.
The therapy of lymph gland cancer in your dog
There are different treatment options for lymph gland cancer.
Among other things, a surgical procedure can be performed in which only the affected lymph gland is removed. Another treatment option is chemotherapy, which is often recommended, but in many cases leads to a poorer quality of life due to the side effects. In many cases it cannot be used because the therapist is too far away to carry out the necessary treatment intervals. The question of excretion of chemotherapeutic agents into the environment must also be carefully considered, for example when children live in the family.
Other drugs are also often used in the treatment, for example antibiotics and corticoids. These often initially push the disease back.
Treatment of lymph gland cancer with dendritic cell therapy
You can use dendritic cell therapy for your dog's lymph gland cancer to increase the quality of life and improve life expectancy.
The aim of dendritic cell therapy is to build up your dog's immune system in such a way that the cancer cells of the lymph gland are attacked and destroyed. In this way the immune system is made aware of the cancer cells, no matter where they are in your dog's body. So even if the cells have already migrated to other organs.
